IMMUNIZATION POLICY
Catch the Son requires that children attending our school be immunized and does not accept immunization exemptions.
We have many families in our school with new babies or toddlers, who because of their age, are not yet immunized or not fully immunized. These children are put at risk when we allow non-immunized children to attend our school.
Catch the Son Preschool has been a past pilot site for the Immunity Community Campaign. Immunity Community is a campaign of VAX Northwest, a partnership focused on increasing timely immunizations in children, birth to 24 months. Some of the partners include the Washington State Department of Health, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Group Health, Within Reach and the Community Pediatric Foundation of Washington. The mission of VAX Northwest is to protect children in Washington from vaccine preventable illnesses. VAX Northwest hopes to accomplish this by ensuring that parents have accurate and reliable information about the benefits and risks of vaccines. In Washington State, 65% of children are fully vaccinated against 11 diseases by the age of three.
